Even though Karen graduated from Guelph University and worked in the agriculture industry she always had a passion for fitness. She loved the escape that exercise provided from the demands of everyday life. It was after daughter number three that Karen started pursuing a new career field in the fitness industry.
After gaining experience as a group fitness instructor, Karen’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to running her own group fitness program in Elmira. As her desire to specialize grew, she was intrigued by the whole notion of training individuals one-on-one. She felt that she could have more of a direct impact on peoples lives.
With close to a decade of experience as a personal trainer, Karen has developed strong relationships through life changing results that she has facilitated with her clients. Since coming on board with Personal Edge Training Inc. in Feb. 2015, Karen has discovered that she has a calling to drive her clients to reach above and beyond what they perceived as possible. Her clients tell her that they just channel her energy and that is what drives them to continue to strive for improvement.
While Karen along with her husband and three daughters own and operate a dairy farm just north of Elmira, Karen makes time to coach a girls minor hockey team in Woolwich, an organization which she assisted in founding. Karen realizes the importance of balancing an active lifestyle with family and work. She takes pride in the fact that she has never been more fit than she is right now.
